Kids Yoga Giveaway 6- Green Tree Yoga

This giveaway has ended! Thanks to all that entered!
So you've read the benefits of doing Yoga and have seen some pretty cool gear. Now I want to help you become your child's instructor through Green Tree Yoga.

Green Tree Yoga is an amazing non-profit Yoga instruction company that I came across when researching Yoga for Ella. Their mission is to educate the public about the healing and strengthening benefits of Yoga through various programs.
Green Tree Yoga will provide you with the tools that can be used in a variety of settings for people of all ages and abilities.

Green Tree Yoga has created books, CD's, and DVD's available for downloads or mail purchases to help you create a Yoga class setting. They also have free handouts
you can print that include (click on the links) "Create a 30-minute intro for Family Yoga or Mother/Daughter Yoga,"
"Five Minute Yoga Breaks for Any Classroom," and "Yoga Word Search for Grades 1 - 3"

I received the book, "Yoga for Kids to Teens" and loved the variety of poses and easy to use layout. (Click on the link to see sample pages from the book.) For me, I haven't practiced Yoga since college. So I have forgotten many of the poses and wasn't sure of the right way to teach Ella. This book has it all to become a great instructor for you children! The book begins with an introduction to Yoga then goes into opening poses. After the opening poses, there are a variety of theme exercises or games to choose from.
Each theme has at least 5+ poses to choose from, so your "class" can be mixed up each week. The combinations can be endless!

With each pose, the book gives the benefits, variations and challenges for more advanced users. An added bonus is the useful information, with some poses, that you can teach your child about nature and being a compassionate person. One of my favorite example is in the Dolphin pose: "Dolphins will help an injured member of their group, or pod, to the surface of the water so it can breathe. Maybe you need to be strong to help a friend or someone in your family." This is just another benefit about Yoga that I love!

After the themes or games, the book has a relaxation section to help reflect and bring peace to the mind. There is even a little relaxation chant you can practice together. You can purchase the book at Green Tree Yoga for only $21!

If you aren't much of a teacher and can't afford taking your child to a Yoga center, you can always purchase a Green Tree Yoga CD or DVD for Yoga instruction. Yael is a wonderful instructor that even interacts with your child over the CD! We listened to the CD with several of Ella's friends and it was like being in a classroom. This would be a great activity for playdates and sleepovers!
