Gone Girl Inspired Post

This month's From Left to Write book was Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. There were so many twists and turns, deceptions, secrets and unexpected events I had no idea how I was going to write an inspired by post. But an article of mine was published today that pretty much made this announcement official and gave me an idea. So now I share with you...
Over the past 4 months I've had a big secret that I wasn't ready to share since my history of previous miscarriages. Then once the danger zone was over 5 weeks ago, I was still a nervous wreck. I think I was so caught up in the secret that once it was safe, it didn't really feel safe to tell. Which is super silly considering this is happy happy news for us!

Living with a secret has made life hard and complicated when it shouldn't have been. I don't know how people can do it for long periods of time! It was stressful to not share important things that were going on. Fortunately there was no need to lie to anyone. But I seriously don't get how people can live in a constant lie or alter life. Life is so much easier just being open and out there.

Now, I feel relieved saying it out loud to my friends and family who didn't know before. E loves telling everyone she knows that she is going to be a big sister. She is very proud of this and has been for several months. I'm now 17 weeks and find out the gender next week. I will be journaling the pregnancy with Sacred Pregnancy so be on the lookout for new posts!

On another note- check out Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. This is a terrific mystery and I love Flynn's style. I just read Dark Places over the weekend and am starting Sharp Objects this week!

This post is inspired by mystery thriller GONE GIRL by Gillian Flynn. They may not have the perfect marriage, but after Amy goes missing, Nick becomes the number one suspect. Can he discover what happened before it's too late? Join From Left to Write on June 12 as we discuss Gone Girl. As a member, I received a copy of the book for review purposes.
